Connie has been unsuccessfully trying to lose weight for years. She began the program last Spring and so far has lost a total of 19 3/4 inches, 31 pounds, and just over 20 pounds of body fat! Way to go, Connie!!
People tend to discount my dieting success because I am small, but the reason I am small is Curves! I joined Curves 8 years ago when a friend literally dragged me into the club. I had started gaining weight and just assumed that was how it was going to be as I grew older. After a couple of weeks I noticed my clothes were fitting better. Then my husband and I did the Curves weight management plan together. I lost the rest of the weight and have not put it back on. We eat out two or three times a week, but since I have learned to eat healthy foods, I only have to follow the weight management plan a few days a month to drop a pound or two and to keep my metabolism up.
I want to let you know how well I am doing since I had my knee replacement. My doctor was impressed that I am walking so well. In fact, he couldn't believe that I was able to go back to work four hours a day one month after surgery. I tell him I owe it to Curves.
In May, I went to Curves with my daughter. I am not an exercise person, but I actually enjoyed the program. I also like the time it takes. Who can't spare a half hour a day at least three times a week? I knew I had the surgery scheduled and I knew I was out of shape and had no strength to speak of in my arms and legs. Sitting at a desk eight hours a day doesn't help matters. I had nurses tell me that they have people that don't have the strengh to use a walker or a cane. I didn't want that to happen to me.
I gave myself a Monther's Day present when I joined. I would recommend the program to anyone. I definitely would recommend that people plan for up-coming surgery by doing themselves a favor and exercising. I know it took the 'want to do it' on my part, but I also know I would never have gotten back on my feet so soon without the program.
Thanks again for such a good program and a great team that you have working for you. They make each of us feel special. They make you want to come back.

I can honestly say that joining "Curves" has changed my life.
The exercise program has given me much more than I ever imagined. Committing myself to go 3x a week, and push myself, and not give up, I have made tremendous progress.
My muscle tone has improved, my stamina has improved, and the best thing of all, is my balance has improved. It took about eight months of hard work and dedication, but I am now walking without my cane! I've used a cane since 1999, after my Diagnosis of MS.
"Curves" has been the encouragement and drive that I needed to help improve my quality of life.
Thanks to "Curves"; and it's staff, and my many new friends--- I am a new person!
